No, you spent your Friday night, saying in, playing Monopoly, drinking homemade margaritas, eating frozen pizza.
No. you just wish you did.
(in other news, we know how to ‘do’ ambiance. obviously)

a few days late, and more than a dollar short…

But here’s our Valentines day!

Jon brought crab legs (pre-cooked, thank goodness), Caviar and crackers (which, as it turns out, I don’t really love), cheesy broccoli, and we had the pie I made him for dessert (pumpkin pie with chocolate chips added). MMMMM. (not pictured is the leather-man multi-use tool we had to use to crack open the crab legs, whoops)

who’d thunk.

I’ve been doing this thing lately, where - if I want something, I ask for it. It’s been working out pretty well.

Oh, and I’ve been trying to say “yes” more often, and that it’s okay to be choosey about what to say “yes” to. I learned if you do everything - you’re unhappy; if you do nothing - you’re unhappy. So I guess being choosey is next on the list of things to try.

So far good things have come of it - things like: double date bacon night with my bf and hers, scheduling lady time during ‘our weekends’ without any problem, making smart money choices without spending to please and then regretting, and saying yes to hanging out with friends means you actually get to hang out with your friends - imagine that!

Although there’s been some set backs - I think progress is being made.

8. Eight is the number of times I’ve fallen flat on my ass in my own apartment.

And I haven’t even started drinking yet. Ugh.

I cleaned yesterday, because cleaning is what normal people do, and I thought I would freshen up the place before J came over, so I grabbed what I thought was “removes allergens as it cleans” air freshener? maybe? and walked around the apartment spraying up a storm.

Hours later. We realized it was furniture polish. WHY THE HELL DO I HAVE FURNITURE POLISH!?! I’m 24. All of my furniture came from Dig’n’save (‘holla Park St. Madison, WI), Mom’s basement, or saved from the garbage. What right do I have to even OWN furniture polish. i just…i don’t even know….why?…why was is there? where did it come from?…any why in the hell did I use it?! who will answer these questions?!?

Lord, where’s the wine

So now I’m bruised. on both sides. Although more on my right than the left, I am apparently a right-side-heavy faller, or something. So I’m not sure anymore if I’m sore from all the ridiculous falling, or from beginning up the yoga-regime again.

One hell of a ‘Blue Monday’ Eh? Fuck it

So now I’m going to polish off the first bottle of wine I can reach, and then begin to scrub? or polish? or wax? or something to my 450 square-foot apartment’s, hard wood floors that are apparently out to get me. and maybe do Yoga again? I quit smoking - again, - and i mean for real this time, so I’m going to yoga-ever-time-i-want-to-smoke-maybe? I don’t know

I don’t know what I’m doing anymore. I cleaned the air ? with furniture polish yesterday while trying to ‘be an adult’ by attempting to clean my ridiculously tiny.apartment. bah!

My life

Lately, has consisted of

  • coffee with fancy creamer (evening coffee should be distinguishable from morning coffee
  • Crochet
  • Bones Season 6 (which OF COURSE they now have available on Netflix, just as I reach the halfway point of my bluray rip of it BAH)
  • “Holiday Cheers” Glade scented oil candles. (because apparently “Spruce it up” which was the survival-scent of last year, is unavailable EVERYWHERE)

Living the life kids.

Now to squeeze in a few more rows and another episode before hoppin’ the 30 to campus. 6 days left at the sandwich shop, 4 days until my last final. 7 days until it dawns on me what decisions I’ve made, and how difficult and tiring these next 8 months are going to be. ha.
