Happy Thoughts : Boyfriends at the Beach
it’s rainy and gross outside today. Which is the worst. Because I really kinda wanted to take a midnight stroll to the beach with the boyfriend to sneak out on the piers and lay in silence in a part of the city that traffic noise doesn’t seem to reach (probably because you just can’t hear it over the waves)
Just an afternoon stroll to the beach.

Bucks VS Heat game - Feb 1st, 2012.
J and I adventured out to a Bucks game this week. Almost a year - to date - from our last basketball game adventure. This time, it was just the 2 of us. We managed to have a really fantastic time. Somehow convinced ourselves that WALKING to the Bradley Center (about 2 miles, one way) was a fantastic idea. Oh well.
Then after the bucks beat the heat (although Lebron did score almost 40….although poor Jennings played almost the whole game - it was exhausting just to watch) we walked to Rudy’s and had ourselves a pitcher of strawberry margaritas, before going out in search of burritos (which, apparently on wednesday, can not be obtained after 10 - although anyothernightofthefreakingweek, we would have been just fine), and then walking the 2 miles back home.
All in all, great.
Milwaukee, you’re just great sometimes. Thanks.
The Criminal Minds episode I’m watching right now, takes place in little ole’ Milwaukee, Wisconsin and I cringe every time at their pronunciation of “milwaukee.”
Didn’t they research? If they had, they’d know the “L” is silent. Duh.
*In the episode, a father uses his son to lure and abduct temporary ’mother figures’ until he grows tired of them and eventually cuts their hearts out. I think I prefer Futurama’s depiction of my city as ‘the most romantic place in the universe’.

GPOYT- 24th Birthday Edition
October, 2011, Wolski’s, Milwaukee, WI
It involved a wonderful morning with J. Including breakfast at Comet (not pictured…bc who remembers the camera in the early AM, i mean really), laying around the apartment, Dinner at Cempazuchi’s on Brady, then meeting up with 2 of my really good friends from Highschool, then meeting up with my best lady , then heading out to Wolski’s, thanks to the map I had printed out (there may have been lots of margaritas involved with our yummy mexican birthday dinner). Then scoping out and attacking a table by the door, followed by pitchers upon pitchers of beer. and shots. and friends stopping in now and then. and ranting about the war outside while chain smoking. and dancing. and yelling ‘birthday’ followed by a round of clinking glasses and drinking. irish car bombs. befriending the bouncer. getting swag. 3 a.m. walk home with the boyfriend. corn dogs and tatter tots before bed. mmmm

pretty famous boyfriend. pretty neat.
it involved a lot of whiskey. a lot of beer. some wonderful cups of coffee before the movie. whiskey gulps during the movie. a successful Q&A. A trip out to the Milwaukee Ale House for the Juniper Tar show afterwards, including many many hugs from the band members and being continuously regaled with stories about how drunk J acted when they were on tour…yadda, yadda. More whiskey. Beers. too many cigarettes. and a death-defying ride home. and turkey burgers in bed at 4 a.m. ooofta.
I need an eye dr & dentist here in Milwaukee - preferably on the East side (near brady would be most desired) because walking there/a short bus ride there would be ideal.
Any suggestions?

Speaking of which - any one know of a good salon on the Eastside - preferably the Brady Street area? I”m too tired at night to bus it to Bayview and back. lord that’s a long bus ride.
